What is SculpSure?
SculpSure is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that destroys fat cells using diode-laser energy. The device is designed to target fat cells through a number of frames that are worn like a belt, depending on the treatment area. Some of our common areas for SculpSure treatment include the belly, flanks, thighs, back, and under the chin.
During the brief 25-minute session, the device delivers diode-laser energy as well as bursts of cooling energy to prevent uncomfortable overheating. To stimulate apoptosis, cell death, the system must heat fat cells to 107 degrees Fahrenheit. As this energy is absorbed, you may feel a tingling or stinging sensation. The degree of discomfort related to this heating is different for everyone. Some patients have zero discomfort and others say the treatment is more uncomfortable than they had imagined. When heated to a specific temperature, fat cells melt and become nonviable. The body recognizes that the cells are destroyed and it picks up the debris in the lymph. Along with other waste products, the disabled fat cells are then flushed through the lymphatic system over time. The process can take up to 12 weeks total, but patients usually start to see their better contours in about half that amount of time.
One of the benefits of the SculpSure process is that it works naturally. While it takes some time for the body to flush the destroyed fat, you need not take time off to recover from your procedure. There is no scarring to treat and few side effects to contend with. You can go right back to all of your normal activities right after your treatment. We suggest drinking plenty of water before and after SculpSure treatment to help move the fat-flushing along as efficiently as possible. With just one treatment, as much as 24% of the targeted fat can be eliminated.
