Laser Tattoo Removal

If you’re searching Google for laser tattoo removal, you’re probably in the tattoo regret phase. Or maybe you just want to fade your tattoo for a cover up. We can help with that too. Can A Laser Completely Remove A Tattoo With No Evidence?

Before you start down the laser tattoo removal process, it’s important to realize that no tattoo removal is guaranteed. Our skilled laser specialists will give you some advice and an honest opinion on your tattoo. Some tattoos only partially fade after several treatments and others may leave a ghost image of your tattoo. Does your tattoo feel raised or feel like braille sometimes after a out in the sun? This could mean you are prone to permanent raised scarring.

Who Does The Best Laser Tattoo Removal In Austin?

Our laser specialists are educated in this process and are experts in the tattoo field. Courtney Grant was one of the first licensed laser specialists in Austin, with over a decade of hands on experience. So the big question is: Would you rather do a cover up, or be left with a ghost image or partial tattoo?

How Many Laser Tattoo Removal Treatments Will I Need?

You probably realize this by now, but multiple treatments will be required. The number of sessions depends on so may factors. Age of tattoo, professional or amateur?, location on body, ink saturation etc. This isn’t something that can be predetermined with accuracy during your consultation, but we can give an idea. The PiQo4 laser is the best on the market and can knock it our quicker than anyone else in town!

How Much Time Do I Need Between Laser Tattoo Removal Treatments?

Safety is key. Performing a laser tattoo removal treatment too soon can increase the risk of side effects like skin irritation, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation and open wounds. The average time between sessions is four to six weeks, but everybody is different. Our laser specialists will give you the details for your specific tattoo based on many factors. In some rare cases, eight weeks is the recommended time to wait between treatments. For patients experiencing textual changes and other side effects, it may be even longer.

How Does The Location Of The Tattoo Affect Laser Tattoo Removal?

Location, location. It matters. Fading is generally slower for tattoos located further down the arms or legs as they are further from the heart. The closer the tattoo is to the heart the better circulation, therefore better results.

All Tattoos Are Not Created Equal

If you got your tattoo in your cousin’s kitchen, chances are it is not a high quality or heavily saturated ink, and may be much easier to remove. The colors used and how deep the ink is embedded are two major considerations.

Professional tattoos penetrate deeper into the skin at uniform levels, and are also more saturated with ink, which is a significant challenge. Our new PiQo4 laser is the best tattoo removal laser on the market, and will tackle the challenge.

What To Expect After Laser Tattoo Removal

The technique we use in our laser tattoo removal treatments is cutting edge. There are not a lot of side effects typically following treatment in our Austin Medspa. Typical side effects following our amazing PiQo4 aser include raising of the tattoo, itching, pinpoint bleeding, redness, and temporary darkening. These are common and usually subside within a couple weeks. More serious side effects (frequently seen at other places with older laser such as laser schools, dated medspa’s etc.) include blisters, burns, hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation, swelling, and infection. Ask if they have a laser that treats FOUR wavelengths (meaning all colors.)

Laser Tattoo Removal On Permanent Makeup

Some of the ink used in cosmetic tattoos and permanent makeup, including colors containing white ink, may darken (oxidize) immediately after treatment because of titanium dioxide. This can usually be corrected with further treatments. Due to this darkening effect, we do not typically treat cosmetic tattoos, permanent makeup. These inks can contain iron, which will turn darker or gray. This should resolve over multiple treatments, but will be darker in the interim.

Can Your Tattoo Removal Laser Treat Darker Skin?

People with darker skin can remove a tattoo with lasers, however, there is a higher risk of hypo-pigmentation because the laser may remove pigment from your skin along with pigment from your tattoo.
